Cookie Policy

Last updated October 10, 2026

This policy lists every cookie and similar browser storage item Arvin uses — on our website, in the dashboard, and in the assistant widget that businesses install on their own sites. It is a companion to our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with information once we have it.

The short version: the things that keep you signed in and remember your preferences are always on, because without them the product does not work. Everything else — analytics and advertising measurement on our own website — stays switched off until you say yes, and you can change your answer at any moment.

1. What these technologies are

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep and send back on later visits. Local storage and session storage do a similar job without being sent with every request: local storage stays until it is cleared, session storage disappears when you close the tab. A pixel or tag is a small piece of code that loads from another company and tells it that a page was viewed.

We use all four sparingly and list each one below. We do not use device fingerprinting, and we do not try to identify you across other companies' websites.

2. How we ask, and how you change your mind

On your first visit, a banner offers two choices of equal weight: Accept all and Only necessary. Nothing optional loads before you choose — no analytics, no advertising tags — and declining takes exactly one click, like accepting. Your answer is remembered in this browser so you are not asked again.

If your browser or an extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a declared opt-out: optional cookies stay off, we do not load those tags, and we do not interrupt you with the banner at all.

To change an earlier answer, use — the banner returns and whatever you choose replaces your previous answer. You can also clear cookies and site data for our domain in your browser, which resets everything on this page, including your sign-in.

3. The categories we use

  • Strictly necessary — sign-in, security, and remembering your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off without breaking the service, and they do not require consent.
  • Preferences — small conveniences such as currency, light or dark theme, and whether a panel was collapsed. They sit in your browser and are never sent to anyone else.
  • Analytics — how many people visit our marketing pages and which ones lead to a sign-up. Optional, and off until you accept.
  • Advertising measurement — whether our own advertising reaches people who go on to try Arvin. Optional, and off until you accept.
  • Widget storage — one item the assistant uses on a customer's website, described in section 7.

4. Strictly necessary

NameTypeWhat it is forHow long it lasts
__sessionCookie, set by usTells us that someone is signed in on this browser, so the right page is rendered before any script runs. It cannot be read by JavaScript, is sent only over HTTPS in production, and is not used for tracking.Up to 30 days, renewed while you stay signed in and deleted when you sign out
arvin.consent.v2Local storage, set by usRemembers your cookie answer so we do not ask again and so optional tags stay off when you declined.Until you change your choice or clear site data

5. Preferences

NameTypeWhat it is forHow long it lasts
arvin-countryCookie, set by usThe country our hosting reports for your request, so prices appear in a sensible currency. No more precise than a country.30 days
arvin:currencyLocal storageThe currency you picked on the pricing page.Until you clear site data
arvin:site-themeLocal storageWhether you chose the light or dark version of our pages.Until you clear site data
arvin.sidebar.collapsedLocal storageWhether the dashboard sidebar is collapsed.Until you clear site data
arvin:ballLocal storageWhat you did to the toy on our home page — its colour, finish, face and size — so it looks the same when you come back. It stays in your browser until you sign up and choose to keep it.Until you clear site data
arvin:dock-bubbleSession storageThat you dismissed the greeting bubble on our own site, so it does not pop up again on every page.Current browser session

6. Optional: analytics and advertising measurement

These load on our website and dashboard only after you select “Accept all”, and only there — never in an assistant on a customer's website. They are delivered through Google Tag Manager, which is a loader and sets no cookies of its own.

NameProvider and categoryWhat it is forHow long it lasts
_ga, _ga_*Google Analytics — analyticsDistinguishes one browser from another so visits can be counted, and records which pages and sign-up steps were reached. Set with IP anonymisation and without advertising personalisation.Up to 2 years
_gidGoogle Analytics — analyticsUsed in some configurations to tell visits apart within a day.24 hours
_fbpMeta Pixel — advertising measurementLets us see whether people who saw our advertising went on to visit and sign up. Meta may also use information it receives under its own policies, including to personalise and measure ads.About 3 months
frMeta, on its own domain — advertisingSet by Meta rather than by us, if you are signed in to its services, for ad delivery and measurement.About 3 months

Lifetimes are set by those providers and can change; treat them as approximate. Read Google's Privacy Policy and Meta's Privacy Policy for what each does with what it receives. Depending on where you live, sending information to Meta for advertising measurement may count as “targeted advertising”, a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information; our Privacy Policy explains how to opt out, and selecting “Only necessary” keeps it from happening at all.

7. The assistant widget on a customer's website

The widget a business installs is deliberately quiet. It sets no cookies, no advertising or tracking technologies, and no identifier that would let anyone follow a visitor from one website to another. It stores exactly one thing:

NameTypeWhat it is forHow long it lasts
arvin:bubble:…Session storage, on the website you are visitingRemembers that you closed the greeting bubble, so it does not reappear on every page of that site during your visit. The suffix identifies the assistant, not you.Current browser session

What you type into a chat is sent to us and stored for the business whose site you are on, as described in our Privacy Policy — but that is a conversation you chose to have, not a cookie. The website you are visiting may set its own cookies, including a consent banner of its own; those are governed by that website's policy, not this one.

8. Managing cookies yourself

Beyond our banner, every major browser lets you see, block and delete cookies and site data — usually under Privacy or Site settings — and most offer a setting to block third-party cookies entirely. Browser help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge explain the exact steps.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all websites with Google's browser add-on, and change what Meta uses for advertising in its own ad settings. Industry opt-out pages at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org cover many advertising companies at once.

Blocking the strictly necessary items will sign you out and keep you from signing back in, and clearing site data will also clear the record of your cookie choice, so the banner will ask again. Blocking the optional ones costs you nothing.

9. Changes and questions

If we add, remove or repurpose anything listed here, we will update this page and the date at the top, and we will ask for consent again where a new optional technology requires it. Questions about anything on this page go to [email protected].
